Ayade Set To Inaugurate Caretaker Committees for Local Government Councils After 3 Years

The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Ben Ayade Having failed to conduct the Local Government elections for over 3 years, is set to constitute caretaker committees for local government councils.

The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Ben Ayade Having failed to conduct the Local Government elections for over 3 years, is set to constitute caretaker committees for local government councils.

The Committee will also constitute the ward – a position equivalent to councillors.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Christian Ita, the governor directs the exercise to be carried out by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade has directed all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter caucuses to meet immediately to work out modalities and recommend names for appointment as members of caretaker committees for local government councils.”

The statement further said, “Governor Ayade urged the chapter caucuses to ensure transparency and fairness by carrying all the wards along in the exercise.”
