The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring and Delivery, Dr. Titilope Gbadamosi, has endorsed the Cross River State Youth Development Summit, Training and Empowerment Programme 2026.

The endorsement was announced following an official visit by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Youth Development, Dr. Julius Obanghe Kijuo, KSJI.

According to the announcement, Dr. Gbadamosi commended Governor Bassey Edet Otu and his “People’s First” Administration for prioritising youth development through what was described as an empowerment initiative designed to improve the skills, economic opportunities and livelihoods of young people across the state.

The programme is expected to provide training and empowerment opportunities for 4,500 young people across Cross River State.

Skills Available

Young people between the ages of 18 and 40 can apply for training in several areas, including:

- Digital Marketing
- Content Creation
- Programming
- Robotics
- Drone Technology
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Welding and Fabrication
- Entrepreneurship and MSME Development
- Cake Making
- Sewing
- Tourism Economy
- Green Economy and Renewable Energy
- Modern Technology Agriculture
- Indigenous Talent Development
- Movie Production
- Music Production
- One-Year Pre-degree Scholarship in University

Training and Application Centres

The training will take place across the three Senatorial Districts of Cross River State.

Applicants can obtain physical application forms at the following locations:

- Office of the SSA on Youth Development, Ministry of Youth, Calabar

- Ikom LGA Council Headquarters — for applicants from the Central Senatorial District

- Ogoja LGA Council Headquarters — for applicants from the Northern Senatorial District

- Calabar Municipal

The organisers also stated that application forms will be made available at all 18 Local Government Council Headquarters across the state to enable rural applicants and young people without internet access to participate.
