Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has declared total combat Against Deforestation through the state’s forestry commission.
The Chairman of the Commission, Chief Tony Undiandeye, gave the assurance when he Sustained effort on siesure at Obubra and it's environ. this is few days after recovering hundred of woods from illegal loggers in Abo, Boki LGA.
Gov Ayade’s move at Apiapum, Obubra yesterday got the indigenous inhabitants excited and pleaded that the State Government should do more by lifting the ban on wood and giving the forestry commission it's powers to sustain the forest while communities gets it's Royalty.
The team lead by Chief Tony Undiandeye has continued to comb the forest and evacuating illegally sawn wood across the State.
