Bogbo Binang Sylva, popularly known as Wan-Dyityem, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Boki II State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly, presenting what he describes as a “Fresh Hope” agenda for the people.
In a formal declaration addressed to stakeholders across Boki II, Sylva positioned his ambition as a call to service rooted in collective progress and shared aspirations. He emphasized that his decision to run is driven by the need for quality representation and effective legislation that directly impacts the lives of constituents.
Born on June 8, 1984, Sylva hails from Dishishua in Kakwagom/Bawop Ward of Osokom II. He is a security professional with experience in problem-solving and community development. He described himself as a strategic thinker committed to accountability, leadership, and public advocacy, with a strong foundation in service and administration.
Reflecting on his political journey, Sylva noted that his participation in the 2023 process, despite challenges and setbacks, strengthened his resolve rather than weakening it.
“This is more than an ambition; it is a calling rooted in our shared conviction that we deserve our full share of development,” he stated.
Development Agenda
Sylva outlined key priority areas aimed at driving sustainable growth and improving living standards across Boki II.
In healthcare, he pledged to expand access to affordable and quality medical services, with a focus on reducing maternal and infant mortality, as well as addressing chronic and infectious diseases.
On education, he promised to sponsor legislation and advocate for increased budgetary allocations to establish and upgrade institutions of learning, ensuring that young people in the constituency are equipped for a modern knowledge-driven economy.
For economic development, Sylva proposed the modernization of local markets through the integration of technology to boost trade and commercial activities.
He also highlighted the importance of stable electricity, pledging to champion reliable and affordable power supply to enhance productivity and support businesses.
