The Cross River State Police Command has announced the schedule for the written examination for candidates seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables under the 2025/206 recruitment exercise.

According to an official press release issued by the Command, the examination is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 28th April, and Wednesday, 29th April, 2026, in Calabar, Cross River State.

The Command explained that the exercise is strictly for applicants of Cross River State origin who successfully completed their applications through the official recruitment portal of the Nigeria Police Force.

All shortlisted candidates are required to log on to www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng starting from Friday, 24th April, 2026, to confirm their examination details. They are also expected to print their Examination Invitation Cards, which will indicate their specific examination date, time, and venue.

The designated examination centre for the exercise is the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Calabar, where all candidates are expected to report for the examination.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES

Applicants are required to appear at the examination centre with the following items:

• A pen for the examination 

• National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) with a clear photograph 

• Printed Examination Invitation Card 

• Mandatory dress code: white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes

The Command emphasized that strict compliance with all requirements is compulsory. It warned that failure to present the required documents or adhere to the dress code may lead to disqualification from the examination.

WARNING AGAINST FRAUD AND RECRUITMENT SCAMS

The Cross River State Police Command reiterated that the recruitment exercise is completely free of charge. It warned applicants and members of the public against fraudsters who may demand money, offer assistance, or claim to influence the recruitment process.

The Command described such individuals as criminals and advised the public to report any suspicious activity immediately via the complaint line: 08137083052.

POLICE LEADERSHIP WARNING

The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Rashid B. Afegbua, psc, mnips, warned that the Command will not tolerate any form of recruitment fraud, impersonation, or racketeering.

He stated that anyone found guilty of such offences will be decisively dealt with in accordance with the law, stressing the Command’s commitment to a transparent and credible recruitment process.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

The Command advised applicants to rely strictly on official communication channels and the Nigeria Police Force recruitment portal for accurate and verified information regarding the exercise.
