Ambassador Kennedy Njar-Nsan has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ikom 1 State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a declaration message made available to supporters and stakeholders across the constituency, Njar-Nsan appealed for the support of the people of Ikom, stressing that his ambition is driven by a desire to provide quality representation and accountable leadership.
The aspiring lawmaker stated that his campaign would be built on inclusiveness and collaboration, noting that no individual or group would be taken for granted in the course of the political journey.
According to him, the decision to seek elective office stems from a conviction that citizens deserve leaders who are committed to public service and community development.
"We want to offer ourselves for leadership so that you can lead through us. We want to offer better leadership and we want to partner with everyone who believes in quality representation and accountable leadership," he said.
Njar-Nsan further expressed concern over the direction of the country, arguing that citizens must become actively involved in shaping governance and leadership outcomes.
He maintained that his vision for Ikom 1 State Constituency goes beyond what he described as tokenistic approaches to development, promising to pursue policies and initiatives that would bring meaningful progress to the constituency if elected.
Addressing the people directly, the NDC aspirant said he is committed to the development of Ikom and urged constituents to support his aspiration, assuring them that the constituency would witness positive transformation under his representation.
The declaration marks the formal commencement of his bid to represent Ikom 1 State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
