The Cross River State Government has announced a change in the date for the admission screening test for candidates seeking entry into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 78th Regular Course.
The screening exercise, which was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, has now been moved to Saturday, June 20, 2026. The adjustment was made to prevent a clash with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) mop-up examination, which some applicants are also expected to participate in.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Secretary to the Cross River State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan, announced the new date and confirmed that the examination will commence by 7:00 a.m.
The state government explained that the decision was taken to give eligible candidates the opportunity to participate in both the NDA screening and the JAMB mop-up examination without facing a scheduling challenge.
“The screening test earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026, has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 20, 2026. This adjustment is to accommodate candidates who are also participating in the JAMB mop-up examination,” the statement said.
Authorities noted that the venue for the screening remains unchanged, advising candidates to rely on information earlier sent by the NDA through email notifications, SMS alerts, and the official application portal.
Candidates were also encouraged to prepare adequately for the exercise and ensure they arrive early on the new date. Those requiring additional clarification were advised to contact the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The NDA screening test is part of the admission process for candidates seeking entry into the military institution’s 78th Regular Course. Eligible applicants were earlier required to meet the admission criteria, including selecting NDA as their first-choice institution and meeting the required JAMB score benchmark.
