The publication, as reported by Leadership, examined Duke’s bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election and presented him as a notable figure in Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly because of his previous experience as governor of Cross River State and his return to the presidential contest.
Duke, who served as Cross River State governor from 1999 to 2007, is contesting the 2027 presidential election under the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
According to the report, Global Hukum Indonesia highlighted several areas associated with Duke’s proposed vision for Nigeria, including governance reforms, economic development, education and the application of artificial intelligence in public administration.
The publication also highlighted proposals aimed at improving transparency and accountability in government, tackling corruption, strengthening the investment environment and improving public welfare.
Education reportedly forms another major component of Duke’s agenda, with emphasis on modernising Nigeria’s education system and expanding opportunities for young Nigerians.
Of particular interest is his proposed approach to artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The report said Duke's vision includes the development of a national AI strategy that would integrate emerging technologies into sectors such as public administration, agriculture, manufacturing, financial technology, healthcare, infrastructure and public safety.
The proposed agenda also includes a nationwide digital literacy programme designed to prepare Nigerians, particularly young people, for the changing demands of a technology-driven economy.
The international spotlight comes as Duke continues preparations for the 2027 presidential election. His return to the presidential race has generated renewed political interest, particularly in Cross River, where he remains one of the state's most prominent former political leaders.
Duke previously contested Nigeria's presidential election in 2023 under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) before subsequently emerging as the PRP's presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
With the 2027 election approaching, the latest publication places Duke's political ambition under an international lens, while the former governor continues to promote his proposed approach to governance and national development.
