Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has attributed the progress recorded by his administration to God's intervention, saying his government's journey has been sustained by divine grace despite the challenges encountered along the way.
Otu made the statement on Sunday during a thanksgiving service to mark his 67th birthday at the Voice of God Christian Mission Incorporated in Calabar, where he expressed appreciation to God, the Church, political associates and the people of Cross River State for their support.
The governor said the occasion was an opportunity to return all glory to God, stressing that whatever his administration had achieved was not solely the result of human effort.
According to him, the challenges experienced since he assumed office have strengthened his faith and reminded him of the importance of perseverance and dependence on God.
Otu also appealed to his supporters and political associates to continue supporting his administration as it works towards consolidating its achievements and pursuing its development plans for the state.
Acknowledging that government interventions had yet to reach every resident, the governor assured Cross Riverians that his administration would continue exploring ways to extend its programmes and benefits to more people.
He emphasised that achieving inclusive development would require collective effort and sustained cooperation among the government, communities and other stakeholders.
The thanksgiving service formed part of activities marking the governor's 67th birthday, which has also attracted congratulatory messages and prayers from political leaders and government officials across the state.
As the Otu administration continues its tenure, residents will be watching to see how its development promises translate into more visible improvements in roads, healthcare, education, employment opportunities and living conditions across Cross River State.
