Fresh uncertainty has emerged over the Senatorial ambition of former Cross River State Commissioner, Oden Ewa, after the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially listed him among aspirants not cleared to participate in the party’s Senate Primary Elections.
The updated list, released Monday by the APC through its verified official X handle, identified Oden Ewa under Cross River Central Senatorial District with the status: “NOT CLEARED.”
The development comes amid days of intense speculation and conflicting reports on social media claiming that the APC chieftain had successfully passed the party’s screening process.
Several documents circulated online by supporters and political groups had suggested that Ewa was cleared to contest, fueling celebrations among his loyalists across parts of Cross River Central. However, the latest publication from the party appears to have put those claims to rest, at least officially.
In the statement accompanying the release, the APC said the updated list was part of efforts to ensure transparency, orderliness, and integrity in the ongoing primary election process nationwide.
The statement, signed by APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged stakeholders to remain calm and abide by party procedures.
The controversy surrounding Oden Ewa’s screening status reflects the wider internal tensions currently facing the APC across Nigeria ahead of the party primaries.
