Dear Compatriots, The celebration of this year's Christmas affords us the opportunity to take stock of the outgoing year and to reaffirm God's pure love for his creation which Jesus Christ embodies.
While we celebrate God's sacrificial love for mankind, we should not lose sight of the true essence of the birth of his begotten son and the necessity of loving one another as he commanded. This is therefore a season for us to renew our love for one another.
As a nation, we have faced formidable challenges this year. These challenges tested our mettle, encouraged heightened saliency and threatened our union.
But the good news is that in all these, we did not succumb to despair and surrender our hope to desperate divisive forces. Our Nigerianess and expectations of a better future has remained unshakable and non negotiable.
I salute in particular, the resilience of my good people of Cross River State. We continue to share in the lofty dream of a prosperous State in which no one is left behind. The passage of time has not diminished this vision. Rather,it has reinforced and strengthened the irrevocable resolve for a prosperous and all inclusive State which will create the environment for our creativity and aspirations to flourish.
Let us therefore march on to the future with hope that next year will afford us the opportunity to take decisive steps to actualize our noble dream.
