A stakeholder from Borum community in Boki Local Government Area, Chief Enu Caesar, has commended the Cross River State Government for facilitating the reinvestment of Presco Plc in the Boki Oil Palm Estate, Borum.
In a congratulatory and appreciation message, Chief Caesar expressed gratitude to Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, and Soni Abang, described as Leader of Boki, for their support and leadership that led to the successful reinvestment plan by Presco Plc.
According to him, the decision by the state government and the Cross River State Council on Privatization to facilitate the takeover of the Boki Oil Palm Estate in Borum by Presco Plc represents a significant milestone for the people of Boki Local Government Area and the state at large.
Chief Caesar noted that for many years Borum and neighbouring communities remained largely neglected despite their vast agricultural potential. He said the development signals a new phase of economic revitalization, capable of creating employment opportunities, boosting agricultural production, and stimulating infrastructural growth within the area.
He further stated that the arrival of Presco Plc, a major player in the global palm oil industry, demonstrates that Cross River State is positioning itself as an attractive destination for serious investment and sustainable agricultural development.
The Borum stakeholder added that the reinvestment would reconnect the community to the global palm oil value chain and restore hope among residents who have long anticipated meaningful development in the area.
He also expressed optimism that the administration of Governor Otu will continue to pursue policies that promote rural development, economic growth, and improved livelihoods for communities across the state.
Chief Caesar concluded by congratulating the governor and other stakeholders involved in the process, while calling on the people of Boki to support initiatives aimed at advancing development in the area.
