Authorities say persistent heavy rains have continued to wreak havoc in different parts of the country, triggering landslides, flash floods, destruction of farmlands, and widespread damage to critical infrastructure including roads and bridges.
According to the Kenya Meteorological Department, more intense rainfall is expected in several regions beginning this weekend, raising fears of additional disasters in already vulnerable communities.
Government officials confirmed that emergency response efforts are ongoing as rescue teams, humanitarian agencies, and local authorities work to support affected residents and prevent further casualties.
The latest warning comes after a deadly landslide struck parts of Kenya following days of continuous rainfall, burying homes and forcing many residents to flee to safer locations.
