The Cross River State Police Command has promoted 458 officers from the rank of Constable to Corporal in a ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Calabar.

The decoration ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Rashid B. Afegbua, who congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and service.

Speaking during the event, CP Afegbua charged the officers to maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline, integrity, and commitment to duty while carrying out their responsibilities across the state.

According to the Police Commissioner, the promotion exercise is part of ongoing efforts by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to boost personnel welfare, reward dedication, and motivate officers who have demonstrated diligence in service.

He emphasized that promotions within the Nigeria Police Force are not only rewards for hard work but also opportunities for officers to contribute more effectively to public safety and security.

One of the newly promoted Corporals, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Management Team, and the Cross River State Command for the promotion. He assured residents that the officers would remain loyal, committed, and dedicated to their duties.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers and members of the Command Management Team.
