The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially released the names of successful applicants for the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force, bringing to an end one of the country's largest police recruitment exercises.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, the Commission said the recruitment exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee. According to the PSC, the exercise was comprehensive, transparent, inclusive and based on merit and equity.
The Commission directed all candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination to check their recruitment status through the official recruitment portal from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
How to Check Your Police Recruitment Status
Candidates can confirm whether they were successful by following these steps:
1. Visit the official Police recruitment portal: https://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.
2. Click on the login section.
3. Enter the email address and password used during the application process.
4. Log in to your dashboard.
5. Check your recruitment status and print your training call-up slip if selected.
The PSC also disclosed that successful applicants will receive email and SMS notifications using the contact details they provided during registration.
Successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times that will be communicated later. They will undergo medical examinations and documentation before commencing training.
The Commission warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period will be considered to have declined the offer. It also stated that anyone who fails the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption at the training institution will be declared medically unfit and withdrawn from the exercise.
Candidates are required to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original and photocopies of their academic certificates, and other documents and items that will be specified on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables, describing it as a major step towards strengthening Nigeria's security architecture.
He urged the successful candidates to see their appointment as a call to national service and to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, discipline and dedication.
The recruitment forms part of the Federal Government's efforts to boost the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force and improve security across the country. Candidates are advised to regularly check the recruitment portal, as well as their email and SMS messages, for further updates on training and documentation.
