The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured its members that all grievances arising from the recently concluded ward and local government congresses will be resolved through dialogue and reconciliation.

The assurance was given by the State Chairman of the party, Christopher Etta, during an interaction with journalists in Calabar. He acknowledged that disagreements were inevitable in any political process but maintained that the party remains united and committed to strengthening its internal structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Etta, the APC leadership has already set up reconciliation committees to address complaints from aggrieved members across the state. He disclosed that reports from the Northern and Southern Senatorial Districts have been received, while the committee handling the Central Senatorial District is expected to submit its report soon.

He explained that the findings of the committees would be carefully reviewed to ensure that every genuine concern is addressed, stressing that the party has no intention of alienating any member because of the congresses.

The party chairman appealed to members who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the internal exercise to remain calm and continue supporting the APC. He emphasized that the leadership is determined to preserve unity and ensure the party remains focused on delivering good governance and preparing for future elections.

Etta further expressed confidence that the reconciliation process would strengthen the party and position it for greater success in the 2027 polls.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council, Archibong Bassey, used the occasion to call on governments at all levels to improve the welfare of journalists. He noted that better remuneration and improved working conditions would enhance professionalism and enable media practitioners to perform their constitutional role more effectively.

The APC leadership reiterated its commitment to resolving all internal disputes peacefully, expressing optimism that the reconciliation efforts would further unite members and consolidate the party's strength across Cross River State.
