The Cross River State Youth Development Summit and graduation ceremony for 4,500 youths has ended with expressions of appreciation to Governor Bassey Edet Otu and organisations that supported the training programme.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Empowerment and Mobilisation, Dr. Julius Obanghe Kijuo, expressed appreciation to Governor Otu for his support and commitment to youth development in the state.
Kijuo said the Governor’s belief in the potential of Cross River youths, coupled with the necessary administrative support from his government, contributed to the success of the training and graduation exercise.
He also acknowledged the contributions of key partners and stakeholders, including the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), WBSC Africa/Africa Baseball Partners, ECOWAS, members of the State Executive Council, fellow political appointees and security agencies.
The SSA described the graduation of 4,500 trainees as a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to equip young people with skills and opportunities for self-reliance.
Addressing the graduates, Kijuo assured them that their future remained important to the Cross River State Government, urging them to make meaningful use of the skills acquired during the programme.
He said: “Your best future is assured. The government of Cross River State believes in you.”
The event brought together government officials, development partners, stakeholders, youths and other participants to celebrate the completion of the training programme.
Kijuo further expressed gratitude to everyone whose contribution, presence and collaboration helped make the summit and graduation exercise possible.
