Hundreds of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and various support groups for Governor Bassey Otu have taken to the streets of Calabar, Cross River State, in a solidarity march tagged the “One Million Man March” for good governance.
The march, which is currently ongoing today, Friday, August 14, started from Millennium Park in Calabar, with hundreds of participants moving through parts of the state capital in support of Governor Otu and his administration.
The procession has attracted members of several support groups, including the Non-Indigenes Support Group, alongside APC supporters and other groups backing the governor.
Participants, made up of men and women, are seen dressed predominantly in white, carrying placards and banners expressing support for Governor Otu and his administration, while chanting solidarity songs as they move through the streets.
A major attraction at the event is the guest appearance of Phyna, the popular former Big Brother Naija housemate and Season 7 winner, whose real name is Ijeoma Josephina Otabor.
The exercise, according to the organisers, is aimed at demonstrating support for Governor Bassey Otu and Deputy Governor Peter Odey, as well as promoting what they describe as good governance in Cross River State.
The march has drawn participants from different support groups and communities, with the turnout described by supporters as a major show of solidarity for the Otu administration.
The ongoing event comes amid increasing political activities in Cross River State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As the procession continues across parts of Calabar, supporters have continued to display banners and placards in support of Governor Otu.
