Rt. Hon. Bassey Eko Ewa, the NDC candidate for Cross River Central Senatorial District, has called on party members and supporters in Obubra to mobilise support for Peter Obi and other NDC candidates in Cross River State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during his engagement with NDC leaders and members in Obubra Main Town, Ewa urged stakeholders to work together behind the party's candidates from the presidential level down to the State Assembly across the state.

Ewa specifically identified Peter Obi as the NDC's presidential candidate, alongside his own senatorial candidacy, Ken Egbas for the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, Irek Sampson for Obubra State Constituency I and Christopher Igweng for Obubra State Constituency II.

The call forms part of Ewa's wider grassroots consultation across Obubra as the party begins building its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

Peter Obi is officially listed by the Independent National Electoral Commission among the presidential candidates for the 2027 election, representing the Nigeria Democratic Congress, with Rabiu Kwankwaso listed as his running mate.

Ewa's message in Obubra therefore centred on coordinated grassroots mobilisation, asking party members to take the campaign beyond individual candidates and work collectively for the NDC ticket across the different levels of the election.

He also reminded the gathering of his longstanding relationship with Obubra and highlighted previous interventions he associated with his public service, including a six-classroom block at Abebene and medical outreaches.

Hon. Ken Egbas similarly urged party members to strengthen their grassroots engagement, particularly around access to opportunities and basic amenities in Obubra.

The Obubra meeting ended with renewed calls for party unity and grassroots mobilisation as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
