The Cross River State Civil Service Commission has announced a fresh employment opportunity for qualified medical doctors seeking appointment into the state civil service.
According to an employment advertisement issued by the Commission, applications are being invited from qualified candidates between the ages of 18 and 45 years for five categories of medical positions.
The recruitment follows the approval of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for the employment of eligible medical officers into the Cross River State Civil Service.
The application is free and online through the Commission’s dedicated recruitment portal. The application window stated in the advertisement opens on Friday, September 18, 2026 and closes on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Positions Available
Medical Officer: MBBS/MBChB; 1–4 years of practice
Senior Medical Officer II: MBBS/MBChB; 5–9 years of practice
Senior Medical Officer I: MBBS/MBChB; 10–15 years of practice
Principal Medical Officer II (Consultant): Postgraduate fellowship; 1–4 years of practice
Principal Medical Officer I (Consultant): Postgraduate fellowship; 5 years and above of practice
Who Can Apply?
Candidates must be between 18 and 45 years old.
Applicants must possess the required medical qualification for the position applied for.
Applicants must have the required years of professional practice for the relevant position.
Candidates applying for consultant positions must have the required postgraduate fellowship qualification and experience.
Required certificates must be obtained from government-recognised institutions.

What Happens After Application?
The Commission stated that shortlisted applicants will be notified through email or WhatsApp and through the Cross River State Civil Service Commission website.
According to the advertisement, shortlisting notifications are expected between October 2 and October 5, 2026.
Shortlisted candidates will attend an oral interview scheduled for October 5 to October 9, 2026. The interview will take place at the Commission’s Conference Room in Calabar.
