Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has directed the immediate repair of failed sections along the Calabar–Odukpani Road following an inspection tour of the corridor. During the visit, the governor assessed the deteriorating portions of the road and instructed the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure to mobilize to the affected areas without delay to begin remedial works.
Governor Otu said the emergency intervention is aimed at restoring safe and convenient movement for motorists and residents who use the busy highway daily.
He added that while the temporary repairs will provide immediate relief, his administration is also working on a more durable and sustainable engineering solution to address the recurring road failures.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that improves the lives of Cross River residents and appealed for continued patience and cooperation as the government works to provide lasting solutions.
