The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Youth Development and Mobilisation to the Governor of Cross River State, Dr. Kijuo Julius has praised Governor Bassey Otu for initiating a partnership with the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority. (NSIA), describing it as a major step that will bring more development and opportunities to the people of the state, especially young people.
The SSA made the statement after attending a partnership meeting between the Cross River State Government and the NSIA. The meeting was led by Sera Archibong, the Special Adviser, Liaison Abuja, who coordinated the state's engagement with the federal investment agency.
According to the SSA, the decision of Governor Bassey Otu's administration to partner with the NSIA shows the government's commitment to building a stronger economy and ensuring that investments are directed towards projects that will benefit both present and future generations.
He explained that the partnership is expected to support investments in critical sectors such as road infrastructure, healthcare, and other strategic development projects capable of improving the standard of living across Cross River State.
The SSA noted that proper investment of public resources is essential for sustainable growth and expressed confidence that the collaboration with the NSIA would help unlock new opportunities for economic expansion, job creation and improved public services.
Speaking on the impact of the partnership on young people, he said the initiative offers renewed hope for Cross River youths, as increased investment in infrastructure and development is expected to create more employment opportunities, encourage entrepreneurship and attract additional private sector investments into the state.
He further commended Governor Otu for pursuing partnerships that focus on long-term development rather than short-term gains, expressing optimism that the collaboration would contribute significantly to the state's economic transformation.
