The grassroots consultation of Hon. Abang Pius Besong, popularly known as AB Amani Jojo, is gaining significant momentum across Ikom/Boki, following a strong show of support and warm reception from residents of Ekpashi and Ugep Wards.
The latest engagements saw traditional rulers, youths, women and men turn out in numbers to receive Besong and his delegation, with the atmosphere in both communities reflecting growing interest and acceptance of his political movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In Ekpashi Ward, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the people and received by traditional rulers, who offered their royal blessings and goodwill. The reception provided a strong platform for Besong to interact directly with the grassroots and listen to the expectations and concerns of the people.
The message from the community was largely one of openness, unity and willingness to engage with the political process, with supporters describing the turnout as a reflection of the growing strength of Besong's grassroots network.
A similar scene was recorded in Ugep Ward, where traditional rulers, youths, women and other community members came out to welcome the consultation team. The gathering provided another opportunity for residents to engage with Besong and communicate their expectations for the future of their communities.
The consultation was also boosted by the presence of Hon. John Ifere, popularly known as Young Money, the senatorial candidate, whose participation added political weight to the engagement. Ifere joined Besong and the Boki II State House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Douglas Orimabang, in connecting with residents and strengthening the grassroots outreach.
For Besong, however, the focus of the consultations remains firmly on the people. His engagements have continued to take him directly into communities, allowing him to interact with residents, hear their concerns and build relationships at the grassroots.
The reception in Ekpashi and Ugep has generated what supporters describe as a growing groundswell of support for AB Amani Jojo, with the visible turnout and warm welcome suggesting that his political message is increasingly gaining traction among grassroots stakeholders.
While the receptions should not be interpreted as formal endorsements, the level of enthusiasm recorded during the visits has added to the growing political conversation around Besong and his prospects as the 2027 elections approach.
With political activities gradually picking up across Ikom/Boki, AB Amani Jojo's continued movement across wards and communities could further shape the political landscape as candidates intensify efforts to win the confidence and support of voters.
