The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has challenged its members and support groups to return to their various communities and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call was made in Calabar during the inauguration of a new support group, “Cross River Arise for Prince Otu/Peter Odey 2027.” Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Felix Idem, told party members that political relevance in 2027 would not be measured by titles or positions but by what they can deliver at their polling units.

Idem challenged members to work towards winning their polling units, saying the party was not interested in people who only claim to be powerful without producing results during elections. He urged the new support group and other APC members to return to their communities, recruit more supporters and work for the party’s victory across the state.

The state APC Chairman, Hon. Chris Ettah, also called on Cross Riverians to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu in 2027, arguing that the Tinubu administration had given the state attention on issues including its oil-producing status and financial challenges.

The mobilisation drive comes as political activities begin to gather momentum in Cross River ahead of the 2027 elections, with the APC seeking to consolidate its position across the state.
