The Cross River State Police Command has declared a fresh offensive against criminal activities across the state, with the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, ordering officers to intensify intelligence gathering and raid operations.
The directive, according to the Command, is part of efforts to prevent crime, dismantle criminal networks and sustain the relative peace being experienced across Cross River.
CP Ajo gave the order on Monday, August 24, 2026, while addressing senior officers and personnel of the Command during the weekly lecture at the Police Headquarters in Calabar.
The Commissioner told officers that intelligence gathering and targeted raid operations must be strengthened to ensure that criminals do not establish operational bases in any part of the state.
He charged officers and commanders at various levels to become more proactive by identifying security threats before they escalate, gathering useful information from communities and acting promptly on credible intelligence.
According to him, maintaining peace in Cross River requires constant vigilance and effective cooperation between the police and members of the public.
CP Ajo also directed police commanders to deepen community engagement, stressing that residents have an important role to play by providing timely information that can help the police identify criminal activities and prevent attacks.
The Commissioner said the Command would continue to pursue intelligence-driven operations while working with relevant stakeholders to protect lives and property, maintain law and order and prevent criminal elements from gaining a foothold in the state.
He further warned that the police under his leadership would remain resolute in making Cross River an increasingly difficult environment for criminals to operate.
The latest directive is expected to lead to increased police visibility, intelligence-led raids and other security operations across different parts of the state as the Command steps up its efforts to keep criminal activities under control.
