"No Boki Blood Should Be Shed by Another" — Bassey Eko Ewa Appeals for Peace in Isobendeghe–Boje Crisis

The Senatorial Candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for Cross River Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Bassey Eko Ewa (BEE), has strongly condemned the recent violence between the neighbouring Boki communities of Isobendeghe and Boje, describing the bloodshed as painful and unacceptable.

In a statement released by his media team, Bassey Eko Ewa said the continuous loss of lives among Boki people is a tragedy that must come to an end, stressing that no disagreement should result in the killing of innocent people.

According to him, every Boki life is precious and should be protected rather than destroyed through communal violence.

He called on all those involved in the conflict to immediately lay down their grievances and embrace dialogue as the only peaceful and lasting way of resolving disputes.

The NDC senatorial candidate also appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts in restoring law and order, protect lives and property, and ensure that anyone found responsible for criminal acts is brought to justice in accordance with the law.

Bassey Eko Ewa further urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youth leaders, religious leaders and other stakeholders across Boki Local Government Area to rise above differences and work together to restore peace between the affected communities.

He maintained that no grievance is worth another family losing a loved one and that no conflict should be allowed to divide a people who share common history, culture and destiny.

"Boki blood must stop flowing," he declared, insisting that unity, justice and reconciliation must take priority over anger and retaliation.

The statement ended with a passionate appeal to all sons and daughters of Boki to reject violence, support peaceful dialogue and work together towards lasting peace and development across the local government.

The peace appeal comes amid growing concern over the recent violence involving the Isobendeghe and Boje communities, with residents and stakeholders calling for urgent intervention to prevent further loss of lives and destruction of property.
