The Cross River State Police Command is strengthening its working relationship with the Nigerian Air Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) as part of efforts to improve security coordination and response across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, disclosed this during separate strategic engagements with the Commander of the 305 Special Mobility Group, Calabar, Group Captain B. N. Samaila, and the State Director of the DSS, Mr Oluwole Faluyi, Ph.D.
During his meeting with the Air Force commander, CP Ordue stressed the need for stronger operational synergy between the two agencies, particularly in situations requiring joint deployment and complementary security capabilities.
The Police Commissioner said seamless communication, professional coordination and mutual support among security agencies were necessary to effectively respond to security challenges and protect residents across Cross River.
Group Captain Samaila, in response, assured the Police Command of the Nigerian Air Force’s continued support, pledging a more harmonious partnership towards strengthening joint security operations in the state.
In his separate engagement with the DSS State Director, CP Ordue placed emphasis on intelligence sharing and timely exchange of information to enable security agencies identify and respond to emerging threats before they escalate.
The Police Commissioner noted that accurate and actionable intelligence remains critical to modern policing, adding that stronger collaboration with the DSS and other sister agencies would support intelligence-led policing and improve the state’s overall security architecture.
CP Ordue reaffirmed the commitment of the Cross River Police Command to working closely with the Air Force, DSS and other security agencies to prevent crime, protect lives and property, and sustain peace across the state.
