The Cross River State Police Command has strengthened its security partnership with Homeland Security, Cross River State South, as part of efforts to enhance public safety and combat crime across the state.
The development followed a courtesy visit by the Director-General of Homeland Security, Cross River State South, Chief Michael Nsan, who led a delegation to the office of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Receiving the delegation, CP Ajo Geoffrey described Homeland Security as a critical stakeholder in the state’s security architecture, stressing the need for stronger collaboration among security stakeholders in the face of increasingly sophisticated criminal activities.
The Commissioner highlighted intelligence sharing, information exchange, community engagement and coordinated operational support as key areas of collaboration.
According to him, stronger synergy among security stakeholders would improve their ability to anticipate, disrupt and prevent criminal activities while strengthening the protection of lives and property across Cross River.
CP Ajo Geoffrey also reaffirmed his commitment to a multi-stakeholder approach to security, noting that sustainable security requires deliberate partnerships that bring together the capabilities, local knowledge and strategic reach of relevant stakeholders.
He assured the Homeland Security delegation of the Police Command’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the organisation and other critical stakeholders across the state.
In his remarks, Chief Michael Nsan appreciated the Commissioner for the reception and expressed the readiness of Homeland Security to strengthen its partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in addressing security challenges across Cross River.
The meeting ended with a shared commitment to deepen inter-agency cooperation, strengthen intelligence-led operations and build a more integrated security network towards making Cross River State safer for residents and visitors.
