The Cross River State Police Command has announced a statewide security deployment ahead of the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT), assuring candidates of a safe and orderly examination process.
The Commissioner of Police, Rashid B. Afegbua, has ordered the full deployment of police personnel, intelligence units, and operational assets to all approved CBT centres across the 18 local government areas of the state.
This move, according to the Command, follows directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and is aimed at ensuring a secure and conducive environment for candidates, exam officials, and other stakeholders throughout the exercise.
Police operatives stationed at various centres have been instructed to maintain professionalism, remain calm but firm, and respond swiftly to any form of examination malpractice, disorderly conduct, or security threats.
They are also expected to work closely with other security agencies to effectively monitor not just the exam centres, but also surrounding areas and access routes.
The Command has called on candidates, parents, and guardians to cooperate with security personnel and strictly follow all examination guidelines to ensure a smooth and hitch-free process.
Reaffirming its commitment to the safety of lives and property, the Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines: 07041777060 and 07053355415.
